isla events curates events which empower visitors to engage with the ʻāina (land) and community in sustainable and impactful ways. Tourism is the largest industry in Hawaiʻi, which means we are obligated to fight against the commodification of Hawaiʻi and Hawaiian culture. This is why we hand select our vendors, share our profits, and offer ecotourism education.
isla events operates with ecotourism in mind and our vendors are small, kanaka-owned (native Hawaiian-owned) or local. We welcome the opportunity to partner with other vendors so long as they are representative of our core values. If you find it important to work with a particular vendor but isla events determines their partnership or services harm the ʻāina or community, we will recommend you find a different coordination business to better meet your needs and expectations.
